Our latest local art features oil paintings by Gary Bradley and large art photography by Patrick Bartley.

A great time to stop by and have a look is on Friday May 25 from 6-9PM when we serve free coffee with the Cary Art Loop. Or, the next time you go looking for a sweet treat, steer yourself over to Coffee & Crepes for a freshly made Banana Nutella or Bananas Foster crepe with ice cream! Top it off with an iced latte and a dose of local art and you have a triple treat!

Studio 180 Salon and Lucid Element Multimedia are proud to support our local arts community by serving as a host venue for the Cary Art Loop’s Final Friday events. On the final Friday of select months, we feature a local artist with a reception and cocktail from 6-8 pm. So, come join us at the studio for great works, wine and hors de’ oeuvres and get in the Loop

This month through July 2012, we will display a special show by past artists, Addison and Eric Paige. Featured works are by several different artists within Addison’s and Eric’s collection. Some of the works are paintings, while others are 3-deminsional objects. You’ll have to see the surprises for yourself!

Studio 180 Salon supports the 2012 Cary Art Loop. Artist’s works will be featured at our Final Friday show and reception on May 25th from 6 – 8pm.
Studio 180 Salon is located in Chocolate Smiles Village at 312 W. Chatham Street, Cary.

Monica gives us sparkle and shine in “Got Sparkle?” that highlights her handcrafted, metal jewelry.

Winnie shows us, through her painting, some of her favorite things in “A Few of My Favorite Things”.

Join us May 25 to talk to the artists as you enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and listen to live music by Warren Ferguson and Chris Royce, a violin and guitar duo. The show runs through June 26.

Our Dutch Auction kicks off on Final Friday, June 29, 6-9 pm. It concludes Final Friday, July 27th. This annual customer appreciation event is fun and an opportunity to acquire great art at a great price! Jayne Cluggish is fascinated by the endless surface variations of sculpting with clay. Her unique vision lead her to work first as a fiber artist and basket maker. Honed through years with yarns and vines, Jayne’s passion now informs her work in clay. Her creations begin with sculpting stoneware, exploring texture and form. As the piece emerges, she visualizes the post-firing techniques which will bring it to life. Using multiple layers of paint, Jayne applies the last step as a cold finish. This combination of materials and textures results in compelling three dimensional wall sculptures and relief tiles. These pieces have a spiritual quality which must be experienced firsthand.

Wendy Musser’s beautiful paintings, in oil and pastel, go from breathtaking to bucolic as she captures the heartsong of North Carolina! With vistas of mountains, woods, and fields, these recent on-location works capture outdoors moments with stunning sensitivity. A North Carolina native, Wendy was inspired to begin painting “en plein air” in 2001. Now as an award-winning artist, she continues to find the stimulation of painting in nature to be challenging and exhilarating. Her field paintings are worked to near completion while on site. Wendy’s goal is to capture the beauty of places she has discovered, luring viewers to want to visit the very spot she painted. Don’t miss this wonderful collection celebrating the Tarheel landscape!

Welcome Spring! And welcome to an amazing assortment of talent assembled by Jenny Eggleston. A local artist and art teacher, Jenny proudly displays the works of former students who have gone on to become accomplished artists themselves. Our cafe is bursting with color and texture with everything from pen & ink to hanging sculpture. Many of the pieces are not available for sale, but you may contact each artist directly to see more. And there is much to see. Coffee & Crepes will host our monthly Cary Art Loop Final Friday Artist reception March 30 for 6-9PM. Free locally roasted, Fair Trade Larry’s Beans coffee for all!

It’s Reigning Cats and Dogs at Cary Gallery of Artists

“When we say we own a pet, we’re really saying that they own us – and we’re better for it!” Who owns who…what a silly question from your pet’s perspective! They know who is in charge!

In the exhibition “Reigning Cats and Dogs”, Constance Belton shares her wonderful and quirky sense of pet ownership with these terrific paintings in oil or watercolor with ink and charcoal. An accomplished artist in many mediums, she is a wonderkind when it comes to pet portraiture. This group of work will have you chuckling all the way through.
